Clothes, Clothes, Clothes.

I was going through my clothes tonight and realized how much clothing I own! It's really incredible! So I have decided that I will wear something different to work everyday this month, without repeating any outfits. I figure that this is a way to get creative with my outfits and use some of the millions of accessories that I own and give some of my old favorites out of the back of my closet.

Oh well, this is my summer work adventure! A new outfit every day this month, oh and by this month I mean July.. seeing how June only has one day left (where did this month go?). Alright.. 32 more days to go (I may as well count tomorrow).

Maybe I'll post some pictures? Hmm.. we'll see how that goes.

Growing Up.

So it was weird that my brother graduated high school last year and then attended the same university as me in the fall. I used to get a little shock every time I would pass him in the hallway.

Today I would like to wish my little brother a Happy 19th Birthday!

19 is actually the legal drinking age here.. which now makes me feel really old!

thank you.

My mother always told me the best way to feel good about yourself is to thank someone else for something they did for you.

So, today I would like to thank the sweet retired couple I met at work for showing me that the love of travel never grows old.

weekend soundtrack

Since my weekend will consist of exercising, working, watching the second round of the world cup and relaxing with my family my top five songs for the weekend are as follows:

1. Heartbeats - Adios Control
A band from San Fransisco with a new edge of music combined with the vocals of Ann Yu. This indie band has a huge myspace following, and it's no surprise because they really know what they're doing.

2. My Name is Jonas - Weezer
Who doesn't like a little Weezer during their weekend? It also helps they these guys are playing in my province this month.

3. You Got Yr. Cherry Bomb - Spoon
I first hear of this band on One Tree Hill (yes, I am addicted) and there is something really catchy about this song that always puts me in a really good mood!

4. Jumper - Third Eye Blind
Or any Third Eye Blind song really, I'm not picky! They just released their album Ursa Major 6 years after Out of the Vein.

5. Once When I was Little - James Morrison
<3 is all I can really say about anything related to James Morrison!

Hope your weekend is filled with sunshine and laughter!

Hello Summer!

Today is my first official day of relaxing of the summer.. and probably my last seeing that I start work tomorrow.

Wednesday I had my last exam for the semester and spent the rest of the day out running errands with my boyfriend in some beautiful weather. We walked when we could.. drove when it couldn't be avoided.. and parked the car the furthest from the store to enjoy the sunshine. We ended the day with supper and a little restaurant downtown followed by red wine and milk chocolate. It was the perfect ending to the semester and a wonderful beginning to summer.

Yesterday consisted of packing, driving, unpacking and getting back into the swing of things at home. Which honestly, isn't that hard. The next few weeks are going to be exciting. I have my pop's 75th birthday party next weekend, in which all of my dad's family (minus one cousin) will be home... there are over 40 of us! This will involve a big party on Saturday (my Nan invited over 100 people!), the entire family going to church on Sunday morning followed by our traditional Sunday dinner. I am ecstatic!

In two weeks, I will also be attending my first Board of Regents meeting, representing my University. But the best part of this is that I get to see my friend Tiffany! It's always a good day when we get to hang out, which doesn't happen very often!

I am so excited for summer to be here!

Soccer and Studying

... is what my week has consisted of!

Every free minute that I have has been spent in front of the TV watching FIFA 2010!

Finals start this week! Only 5 more days  until the complete freedom of summer and work!

Also this week I said goodbye to a new friend Devon who has been here for 6 weeks. But I'm considering going to visit him in Arizona for spring break which could be really interesting!

The Start of Summer!

Since my little apology on Monday, I've been super busy! But I figure that now while I have a quick break would be a great time for an update!

Last weekend I went camping with my boyfriend and two of our friends. We went to Gros Morne National Park  for our camping excursion. It was really exciting because I was the only one who had been there before. It was really exciting to play tour guide in a place that beautiful. It rained the first night we were there and we had a lot of fun, I mean frustration, trying to get our fire going. But other than it was wonderful! We got to do a lot of sight-seeing and some hiking!

The view from our campsite!

A lighthouse that my Great-Grandfather used to work in!

Hiking the Tablelands!

The weekend was exhausting and so much fun, that I completely forgot that I was going to see the Steve Miller Band on Monday!

I had such a wonderful time with my Aunt and cousins at this concert! But the rest of the week was filled with studying and writing papers. But at least the semester is almost over and we are slowing getting some better weather! I'm looking forward to sunshine and a  lot of outdoors activities. I'm also excited to get back to work and not have to worry about writing papers and studying all the time and really start to enjoy summer.

Yesterday was the opening of the FIFA 2010 world cup. We all went to my friend's place and watched the opening ceremonies and the first game. It was an intense morning/early afternoon. Which included a lot of yelling, stress and beer before 2p.m. with the South Africa vs. Mexico opener. In the room there were 9 of us. 2 from Mexico, 5 from Africa ( my boyfriend is from South Africa) and the other two of us cheering for South Africa. It was a lot of fun and something I won't be forgetting anytime soon!

Taking Time

So, I apologize for being gone so long. Things got a little crazy around here.

First school started and I had so much work to do in such a short amount of time. I'm currently doing intersession, which is 12 weeks of work crammed into 6 weeks, so I've been spending my days in class and at the library, and my night studying.

We also had a mouse in our apartment, appropriately named Fluffy. Dealing with that was no treat. Student Housing couldn't catch Fluffy or his friends who were living in our kitchen. The task then because finding somewhere else for us to live. Which then came with packing up, moving, and unpacking. I'm now living in residence, quite the step down from the apartments on campus, but at least I know I'm the only one sleeping in my room during the night.

There was also a death in my family, which came out of nowhere. That took a toll on every member of my family. Days were spent at my Aunts, the funeral home, the church, eating food, making food, giving away food. There were lots of tears, jokes, laughs, and hugs. But we all made it through a little stronger than before.

This weekend I went camping with a few friends and my boyfriend. But more of that later!

The main thing is I'm back, and blog.. I will not neglect you again.. until exams at least.
