Hello Sunshine!

Today was the first warm and sunny day of spring that lasted for more than a few hours. Which is the most sun that I'll see for a while because I am headed back to Newfoundland tomorrow and we probably won't see sun until June!

Today was such a lovely day, that my boyfriend and I spent most of the day outside. First we started redoing the stairs on his parents front porch (we replaced the main portion of the porch this weekend). The best part about this was that certain parts were clearly a one-person job, so I got to lie in the sun while the men did all the hard work! After that we went for a walk to the mall to buy the groceries for nachos and made a quick stop in to find a great deal on sweaters!

I watched my first official rugby game today! The Hurricanes vs. The Sharks (New Zealand vs. South Africa), in which my boyfriend and his father taught me the ropes of their official sport. It was really interesting to see because it's a mix of soccer and American football. I was also informed that rugby and American football originated from soccer! With our rugby we had homemade spicy nachos and wine to celebrate my boyfriend, the university graduate!

This evening consisted of a lovely walk and some pool which was the perfect ending to my trip here in Nova Scotia. Tomorrow night I will step onto the boat and head back to Newfound and the search for a summer job (with two interviews this week, I'm hoping it won't be a long search!) and hopefully a continuation of sunshine!

Adventures into the Unknown

With exams finished and another semester under my belt, I am anxious to see what the summer and the next (my final) year of school bring for me. With my boyfriend graduating this year and moving to another continent it is going to be a very hard adjustment that I am certainly not looking forward too. For the first time in over two years we are going to be on separate continents for an extended period of time, with no certain time frame of when we will see each other next. While this thought saddens me terribly, I know that we are strong enough to make it through or come out as friends. And I hope we will make it out okay, I will be happy if we come out as friends.

Since this upcoming year of school will be my last (at least for this degree!), I often wonder where my life will take me and have realized that now is the time to make plans. I have started applying to other schools for my masters and for education programs as well as put some "feeler's" out there for jobs. One of the jobs that I am considering is teaching English as a second language. Which is why, with two courses left to my psychology degree, I have decided to take on an English minor (which also would help for applying to educations programs). This is going to be something new for me, as I have only completed 2 first year English courses and now plan to do 6 in the next year. I always seem to make work for myself when I end up with an easier semester. Along with my english minor I have added Vice President Academic to my challenges for next year as well. This is a position in my Student Union that will require a great deal of my time during the semester and well as complete dedication. Part of me thinks that the challenge of splitting my time between my duties as VPA and my school work will keep my occupied that I won't notice how lonely I will be.

One can hope right?

The Start of Something New!

I seem to have forgotten about my blog this semester, and when I did remember I had too much work to do or saw how long it has been since I last had posted which only discouraged me to post. But the blog has a new layout, maybe some new features coming, hopefully some more followers and maybe even a start from scratch. Only time will tell with this one! But something new is definitely coming!
